Team spirit and healthy competition is what Srinivas Institute of Technology believes in. The college believes in the overall development of students and to kindle that knowledge, growth and excellence in all fields and to build general awareness is what they strive for. With an aim to create technical awareness amongst the students, Srinivas Institute of Technology held the 3rd Edition of their annual inter-collegiate Technical Fest “EXCELL-2016” for Under Graduate students. The event was held at the Srinivas Institute of Technology College campus, Valachil on 07th September 2016.
The one day technical fest gave students an opportunity to witness a wide range of technical and cultural events such as Aptitude, Coding, Web Design, Gaming, Quiz, Dance, Mad-Ad and fun filled activitysuch as Nano cricket. Events like Nano cricket, Dance with theme Bollywood, LAN Gaming saw maximum number of participations and created excitement among students.
Earlier during the day, “EXCELL-2016” was inaugurated and presided by the Principal of SIT, Dr. Srinivasa Mayya D. In his address he insisted that “In this era of information, participants have various ways to present themselves to build new product skills and explore it. The need of combination of skills will lead to get good professional knowledge”. Dr. Shashidhar Kini K, Head of the Department, gave information about the MCA programme. Mr. Dheeraj H, Staff coordinator, introduced the different events to all the participants of different colleges. President of MASM association Mr. Chandan Raj G welcomed the gathering. Secretary of MASM association Mr. Prashanth Titus proposed vote of thanks. Ms. Depashree and Ms. Vinutha compeered the program.
The festival ended with the prize distribution ceremony, rewarding the students for their skills, talent, organizing abilities and leadership. SDM College Mangaluru won the overall championship and Sri Ramakrishna College Mangaluru were awarded the runners-up.EXCELL-2016, powered by Rotary Club, B.C.Road was an enjoyable experience for the students, who participated with exuberance and enthusiasm.
